Happy Weekend! While all week long I fantasize about how I am going to do nothing and relax over the weekend, I realize that is just not me and I end up scouring the Internet at the last minute for things to do (much to my families dismay who would love to spend the weekend napping). They may start out kicking and screaming about the planned out weekend of jam packed activities, but at the end of the day, we end up having a blast (they will thank me one day!). The key is to plan a variety of activities that has a little something for everyone!
Here is the weekend line up I have planned, a little sports, music, art, shopping, and of course delicious food…a little something for everyone!
NFL Draft Experience
Although tickets are no longer available and you were not one of the 60,000 football fans to gain access inside the stadium for the NFL Draft, there is still plenty of fun to be had outside during The NFL Draft Experience.
The three day event takes place in the plazas and parking lots of the AT&T Stadium. Get autographs from past and present NFL players, visit a replica NFL locker room as it appears on game day, participate in interactive exhibits, have your photo taken with a giant helmet of your favorite team or one of the five Cowboys Super Bowl trophies, or enjoy some of North Texas’ most popular restaurants, (including Torchy’s Tacos, Off the Bone Barbecue, Crushcraft) while taking in the draft action on one of the big screen TV’s. No matter what your “fan level” is, there is “something for everyone”. Entrance into the event and parking is FREE!
Thursday: 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Friday: 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Saturday: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Western Son Distillery
New to Pilot Point is the Western Son Distillery, they make their “small batch” vodkas, gins, and whiskey with the “quality over quanity” belief. Offering tours of the distillery throughout the day on Saturdays (tickets required), you can learn the art of whiskey making and taste signature vodkas and gins in flavors from Juniper Jelly to Prickly Pear. If live music is your thing, you are in luck! Check out the 2018 Concert Series for performances! (We will ditch the kids for this one!)
Plano Art Festival
This two day free community festival of the Arts begins on Friday, April 27th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and continues on Saturday the 28th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. There will be live music, contemporary art, performances from local arts groups, a great variety of craftsman and artisans, family chalk art, a kids zone with bounce houses, food vendors ,and much more!
