According to the Tea Association of the U.S.A. (which I didn’t even realize there was one), tea is the most widely consumed beverage in the world next to water, with 80% of it being iced.  In 2017, about 86% of all tea consumed was black tea, 13% was green Tea, and the small remaining amount was oolong, white and dark tea.

National Iced Tea Day is clearly a marketing holiday, but what would summer be without a tall glass of cold iced tea? Whether sweetened or not, flavored or plain, today is a great day to sit back and enjoy this refreshing beverage!

In honor of National Iced Tea Day, Lipton is offering offering a postcard for a free 20 oz. Lipton Iced Tea to the first 100,000 online entries on June 10th.

McAlister’ Deli  is also celebrating National Iced Tea Day with FREE tea but on June 21st (not the official June 10th).

Or you can venture out and try one of my favorite teas like Plum Ginger Hibiscus Tea or the Passion Papaya Green Tea at Panera Bread or Hibiscus Green Tea from Zoe’s Kitchen.

So brew a pitcher, grab some lemon wedges and sugar cubes and join the nation as we celebrate summer with this classic refreshment!
